What is ReWrite?
ReWrite helps you rebuild handwriting skills through guided tracing exercises. Designed for people recovering from stroke, brain injury, or other conditions that affect hand control and writing ability. It provides practice exercises with progress tracking and colour-coded score bands. No ads, no subscriptions — no additional costs after purchase.
How it works
Choose an exercise type: individual letters, numbers, words, or sentences
A faint guide character appears on the writing area
Trace over the guide with your finger (touchscreen) or mouse
The app scores your accuracy based on how closely you traced the guide
Your progress is saved automatically on this device
Understanding benchmarks
Scores are compared against typical performance bands. These are guides only — visual, motor, cognitive and fatigue factors all affect scores. What matters most is your personal improvement over time.
Strong performance (≥80%) — close match to the guide
Developing (50–79%) — improving, keep practising
Early stage (<50%) — every attempt builds new pathways
Tips for best results
